Fiance and I are trying to figure out where we should go for our honeymoon. My dream honeymoon is to go to Bora Bora, but that'll definitely cost a pretty penny because Delta doesnt fly directly to Bora Bora (Fiance works for Delta so I normally fly to places for pretty cheap) an even if they did, the hotel packages are really pricey. Isn't it gorgeous though?

Second option is to visit Italy since we've never been there either. I'm thinking either Venice, Rome, or Florence...maybe even multiple locations? I've always wanted to ride a gondola or see Michelangelo's David in person among many other things like food. The plus is that we won't really have to worry about airfare so we can splurge on the hotel.

Our 3rd option is to visit France again. Fiance has been to Paris multiple times and my first visit was back in May of 2010. We were thinking of going to Paris because I felt like my trip there was rushed. We could also visit Nice, which has been on Fiance's bucket list for a while now. My pictures from Paris:
Fourth, I am thinking about Maui or Kauai. Granted that we were recently in Hawaii back in October, it'd be nice to visit a different island (we visited Oahu).

Any other ideas as to great honeymoon spots? Where did you go for your honeymoon? I'm also thinking about Madrid, fiance suggested Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic also.

I'm thinking somewhere exotic too which is why Bora Bora was my first choice...thanks soo much!
DeleteThis is totally relevant for me right now. I'm very organised with me wedding. I have ideas and bookings for basically everything except the honeymoon. It's the one thing I'm unsure about.
ReplyDeletehow awesome!! when is the wedding date? Im sure that you are much further along in planning than I am...lol. I have so much to do!
DeleteIf airfare isn't a problem...then go to Italy and take a jaunt over to Paris. Not such a hard travel, but you could get both places worked in. But having been on a honeymoon, my BIGGEST recommendation is NOT to fill your days with craziness. Move slowly, don't regret "not seeing/doing" everything. Sit at sidewalk cafes and scenic spots and just relax together. It's an opportunity you won't have once real life hits :)

That sounds like a nice idea too. Great idea! I'm hoping to use this vacation as a chance to just relax. Definitely going to take your advice and move slowly...thanks!
DeleteRach thanks for the comment about my smokey eye tutorial! :) All of these places look soo so amazing!!! Bora Bora would be beyond incredible - look at that water! And I love the huts on the water! I looked into resorts there a while back and it is pretty expensive :( Wish it wasn't!

All of these places look amazing! My top choice would definitely be somewhere on the beach but who wouldn't love to visit Paris?

Tahiti and Bora Bora are my absolute No. 1 destination for a honeymoon if I ever get married. How about St. Lucia! Supposed to be just as lovely with the same landscape and it's closer :)
ReplyDeletewww.plentyforpennies.blogspot.com
ooo, St. Lucia could be nice also...adding to list of 'to research' right now lol...thanks soo much!
DeleteI would choose Paris cause I loved it. I might pick Maui because I have never been.
ReplyDeleteI didnt know fiance worked for Delta. My husband did too. He quit 7 years ago for a reason unknown to me. :(
I loved flying.
Both sound like fantastic places to have a honeymoon! I would love to go to Bora Bora, and Italy is just an amazing/romantic place to travel :) If I ever get married, New Zealand would be my ultimate honeymoon destination!
ReplyDeletewww.rachelslookbook.com
ooo, I have to add New Zealand to my research list. thanks much!
DeleteOf course Bora Bora sounds amazing and would be a top pick. When I get married I think we will travel to the Cayman Islands or Bermuda. I have a few friends that live in Bermuda, and the clarity of the water in the Caymans is to die for.
ReplyDeleteObviously, any pick would be a great destination! Good luck in your choice!

One of my friends is going on her honeymoon soon, and I think it just depends on if you want to relax and enjoy views, or if you want to sight-see. They want to go to the beach so they can be lazy and enjoy each other and not feel obligated to be going to see sites all day. But it just depends on you and your fiance! Congrats, btw, that's so exciting! You have a great blog. Would you like to follow each other?
