Orange Soda

Anyone else use to watch Kenan and Kel on Nickelodeon besides me? It was a kid show that aired in the mid 90s. Oh how I miss all those shows... Clarissa Explains It All, My So Called life, Roundhouse, Flashforward. But I digress...I mention Kenan and Kel because Kel loved orange soda and if I had to pick a soda to drink, it'd be orange soda. Ok, not making sense here. The shirt I wore today reminds me of orange soda. But It kind of looks like brown in this picture now that I look at it...lol. Anywho, I think that this top is from Marshalls.

Stripe nails

I should be asleep right now (it's 2:05am here) but I'm WIDE awake. Did my nails So they are striped right now. I really like them. Just used some Essie blue polish and some Sally Henson white. What do you guys think? Check back much later today for Monday's outfit post. Happy Monday!

I've had no internet access at home and couldn't really update anywhere else, courtesy of AT&T. It started raining outside so I kept switching locations meaning the lighting and backgrounds are all over the place...lol

My very first graden

 I've never really been one for growing plant, indoor or outdoors. I had a bamboo plant in undergrad because I was told that bamboos are pretty resilient to anything and even that died. Needless to say that I should be the last person on earth trying to grow my own food. Well, I thought that it would be cool to be able to grow some of my own vegetables outside so I planted some seedlings back in late April. I waste soo many vegetables because they usually rot before I finish them so I thought this would also save me a ton of money. I planted some tomatoes, green beans, watermelon, green peppers, cilantro and basil. Sadly enough my watermelon plants died last month but everything else is doing pretty well. I hope to have some beautiful red tomatoes among other vegetables by the of next month. I may go buy an already grown watermelon plant from a nursery but we shall see.

Monday's Tribal Song

Eek! I love this skirt. My sister got it for me for my birthday from Elli's Boutique (I think that is the name of it). The brand is called Mamie Ruth and the company was founded by a fellow Georgian (kudos for Georgians). I had never heard of Mamie Ruth till my sister gifted me this skirt but I looked the company up and apparently there is a boutique near me that sells Mamie Ruth clothing and accessories. I have to check it out sometime soon. I love the print because it reminds me of clothes my mom gets sewn for me back in Ghana.

Green+Blue Eyes

 I don't normally wear bright colored shadows because I've always felt that they looked weird on my skin complexion, but I decided to try out this lime green color that I got last month.

 Its about time I get my eyebrows threaded again.

I used MAC's lucky green shadow, MUFE shade 149, and the green shade from my shady lady palette. The blue liner is cobalt clutch from the barbie loves stila collection.

Aztec Print Bustier

How cute is this Aztec printed bustier from Karmaloop? I've really been into tribal prints lately and I absolutely adore this top. Speaking of prints, I have got to show you guys this skirt that my sister just gave to me for my birthday. She got it fro a little boutique and it is too cute!

Happy Friday!!!

I kept complaining about how I needed more skirts in my closet for the summer. So as part of my birthday gift, Boyfriend got me the following:

I have to photograph the actual garments but this was such a big deal to me because:
1. He knows that I like Forever 21.
2. He apparently also knows what patterns and cuts I would like.
3. He purchased them against his instinct. lol. He thinks I have too many clothes already so he always complains when he sees something new. In my defense, he hates anything having to deal with shopping and would probably own the same top in 20 different colors, if I didnt complain, just to avoid having to go shopping. lol. So what does he know right??

I didn't get a birthday cake this year which was kind of sad because I absolutely love cake. So I want to make one today and take it to my parents house this weekend since my whole family will be there for Fathers Day. I have no idea what type to make though..any suggestions? I want red velvet but the last recipe I tried was very disappointing.

A Pool of Blue

Picked up the skirt a few weeks back from TJ Maxx (I got quit a bit of stuff from cheap during that 1 trip). The skirt is actually too long in length to wear around my waist so i tucked in a white tank and added a black belt in hopes that it wouldn't look funny. Speaking of cheap, I've decided that Im going to give couponing a go to see how successful that goes for me. My hairdressing actually convinced me to try it as she bragged about the 100 or so dollars she saved during her last grocery shopping trip. I, however, have no idea where to start. The Sunday paper maybe?

Knocking on Summer

Got this dress last year and never got to wear it. Wore it today and got tons of compliments on it. Loves it! It has a belt that came with it but I didn't like. I wasn't bold enough to cute off the fabric belt so it is carefully tucked underneath the brown belt. It makes a perfect little summer dress even if its not officially summer yet.

On my leisure summer to do list:

1. Make Homemade Donuts

2. Eat veggies from my very first vegetable garden (I planted them back in april)

3. Utlilizing boyfriend's Delta flying perks by traveling more and specifically shopping in New York or somewhere other than here.

4. I haven't swam in like 2 years. Going to the beach consists of me going in the water as deep as maybe my waist. I want to swim more.

5. Photography. I really want to take a class if I ever find the time. My brother was welding together something and I decided to take advantage of the sparks.

6. Reading more. I use to read a lot before law school took over my life.
